March is Spring, or is it?

We thought that by now there would be Spring-like weather, but NO! Here in NJ, as well as other areas in the East, there is snow and then rain. To think that the daffodils and tulips are partway out and have to suffer…

I put some of the bulbs in pot so we could see them close-up outside the Garden Room.

We also had a rough winter with our one corgi, Emily, whom we almost lost to a blockage and aspirated pneumonia. That went on for Feb-March and  she was very, very ill. We are thanking God for preserving her life, healing her, and letting her stay longer with us. She will be 14 in May.WP_20130218_001

Then it was the painting of the Garden Room. Glenn is almost done. A good thing, as we spend most of our time there looking out at the gardens in winter. When it is too hot to be outside, we are in there, too, watching the wildlife. The dogs love it in there as they can see out. We have a marble floor which they love in the summer to cool their bellies.

After Easter, I begin the seed starting in there and get the pots ready for the potting shed in April. It is much too cold to be in the potting shed now and we don’t spend money to heat it. Glenn then begins working outside and we are  mostly out until Nov.

Next up: The Philadelphia Flower Show in Early March…
