September Weather

We are waiting for the fall rains! Everything is brown with the drought of summer here in NJ. Hurricane Earl brought NOT one drop of rain.  I’ve ordered a few new plants but hope they will not come until end of Sept.

Cut down the perennials with the hedge trimmer-fast and neat-hostas, peonies, day lilies, and more. Now, to  fill in the mulch where needed on the edges of the beds. In October, we will shred the leaves with the large leaf shredder and spread all on the center of the beds.

and is good for the soul to be out and working.
